Prince Harry should be right at home in the US after his little piece of California was compared to the Cotswolds where he grew up.
Soaring property prices, celebrity neighbours and a rural vibe have all led to the Montecito being compared to the stunning area of natural beauty in England which attracts visitors from across the world.
Harry is now living in a star studded neighbourhood between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean with his pregnant wife Meghan Markle and their son Archie.
Their English style, £11 million country house is said to have nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms and house for guests in the grounds.
And although the area which is a retreat for the uber rich and famous might seem a world away from the honey-coloured cottages and olde-world buildings of Tetbury, many say there are similarities.
British journalist Richard Mineards now lives in the small enclave near the city of Santa Barbara where the stars are said to go to escape the city told the MailOnline: “I can quite see the comparisons.
“The Cotswolds are 100 miles from London and Montecito’s about the same distance from Los Angeles. They’ve both got great architecture and natural beauty — though we have the sea and the mountains rather than the pastoral scenes of Gloucestershire.
“And it’s the same mix of celebrities, wealthy people and royalty. “
MailOnLine showbiz reporter Alison Boshoff says it’s not just the settings that are similar, but the kind of people who live there.
