On March 24 and 25, 2021, Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, traveled to Greece — marking the British royals’ first major overseas visit since the coronavirus pandemic began more than a year earlier. The trip to Athens was in celebration of the bicentenary of Greek Independence Day and had special significance as Charles’s father, Prince Philip, was born in Greece into the Greek and Danish royal families.
