Britain’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who steppe down as Royals owing to a barrage of internal matters that was recently revealed in an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey are being trolled online for having the logo of their charitable organisation copied from an Austrian property firm. The non-profit organisation named Archewell was opened in the US in April 2020 and named after their son Archie. However, the logo of the firm representing ‘AW’ looks very similar to the Austrian company Am Werdertor project’s emblem design.
Talking to Daily Mail, Dmitry Pryanishnikov, chief executive of Am Werdertor’s parent company Allea Group, said that ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery’. Dmitry also clarified that even though the logo is very similar, they won’t take any action and offence because ‘the subject projects are very much different by their nature’, reports Daily Mail.
A marketing expert after spotting the extraordinary similarity between the emblems was amazed at how Archewell’s design team didn’t spot the resemblance before launching their own version. “There seems to be no diligent research and effort done in creating unique branding and a creative logo for Archewell,” she said.
