Janina Gavankar told ITV’s This Morning that the Royal Family were well aware of the issues Meghan Markle was facing during her time in the monarchy. The American actress added that the Duchess of Sussex’s friends lived through her experiences in the Royal Family with her.
Ms Gavankar said: “After reading this short statement that came out from Buckingham Palace, I thought two things.
“On one side I thought I am so thankful that they are finally acknowledging the experience but on the other side, I know that the family and the staff were well aware of the extent of it.
“Their recollections may vary but ours do not.
“We lived through it with them and there are many emails and texts to support that.”

The Duchess of Sussex spoke to talk show host Oprah Winfrey about her experience as a senior member of the monarchy.
During the discussion, Meghan claimed she and Prince Harry had become concerned after an unnamed member of the Royal Family questioned “how dark” their son Archie would be at birth.
Buckingham Palace released a statement on Tuesday admitting their sadness at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure, saying: “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.”
