Judging by the big bouquet of flowers Jessica Mulroney just received, it seems all those reports that she and Meghan Markle’s friendship was on the rocks were mistaken.
The celebrity stylist shared a photo on her Instagram Stories on Sunday of an arrangement of pink roses in a glass vase she says were sent to her by the Duchess of Sussex in honor of her 41st birthday. “LUCKIEST FRIEND XXXX, THX MM,” she wrote over the image. The gift also comes one week after Mulroney came to the defense of her friend following the explosive revelations made in her Oprah interview and accusations of bullying from royal aides. “I don’t know that anyone has ever had to deal with the pressure, the politics and the press like this woman,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two of them eating dinner. “In the face of it all, I have never seen her waver from kindness, empathy and love.”
Over the summer, the status of Meghan and Mulroney’s friendship was called into question after Canadian lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter posted a lengthy Instagram video calling Mulroney out for “textbook white privilege.” That online altercation caused Mulroney to go on a very short-lived social media hiatus and sources at the time told Page Six, “I don’t know what the tipping point was, but Jess has been on the outs for some time.
