The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s family of three is about to become a family of four, as Meghan Markle is expecting her second child with Prince Harry.
The happy news was announced on Sunday 14 February, confirmed by a spokesperson for the couple: ‘We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.’
The announcement was accompanied by a new photo of the pair, shot by their friend Misan Harriman – the same photographer who captured Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapellli Mozzi’s engagement pictures in September 2019. Taken remotely on an iPad, the black and white image shows the couple in a garden, smiling as Meghan rests her head in Prince Harry’s lap, with her hand on her baby bump. Although her pregnancy is clearly visible, an estimated due date has yet to be announced.
Harriman wrote on Instagram: ‘Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!’
